He is living in the village Daspara which is located at Gaighata block in North 24 Parganas. The district North 24 Parganas is hardly affected by the arsenic toxicity. He had been suffering from arsenic toxicity for a few years. In the van stand there is no code of ethics to pull the van. A van has been issued to the Mongol Das by the local cooperative society. The cost of van is nearly three thousand, his monthly premium was one hundred rupees.
>When symptoms of arsenicosis were seen in his body, he did think it was due to over working for vanpulling. Previously he did not try to treat himself. Latter on he had felt that he could not work hard. He went to Thakurnagar Hospital for treatment. Doctor detected him as an arsenicosos patient. He gave primary steps. He did give advice to Mongal Das and treated under his supervision. Doctor also used to give him advice for taking vegetables and protein foods every day.
>Due to Ignorance and lack of consciousness about arsenic he had not been taking medical treatment. He thought, it was over working of pulling van. At last he had changed his primary occupation. He did not go to the hospital for treatment. That is why after a few days he had been suffered from unusual events like body ache, in efficiency to work hard, aspiration problems.
