It seems like every Internet marketer on the planet is trying to find out how to use social networks like Facebook and Twitter to bring in income.
Let's look at definitions of the two terms from dictionary.
Networking is "a supportive system of sharing information and services among individuals and groups having a common interest.
So, according to the definition, a good networker will be supportive, share information and services, and have a common interest with those in the network.
Internet marketers, in general, use various online methods to connect sellers with buyers. Here's the key sequence - you market to a lot of people so you can network with a few and then market on a personal level.
You market through some form of advertising or promotion to a lot of people. You form relationships with them and, when the time is right, offer your product or service and make the connection between seller and buyer.
After all, if your ultimate goal is to sell somebody something, are you being totally up front to be their friend on Facebook or follow them on Twitter. If you do that, you won't seem fake, because you won't be fake.
If you're friends with hundreds of people on Facebook or following thousands on Twitter, how do you find the people who are looking for you?
