Coke is actually a fuel derived from coal whereas coal is usually a blackish sedimentary rock found in the rock strata and is an easy combustible substance. Both Coal & Coke
can be found in the natural form but coke can be derived with the help of some human intervention. Coke is a solid form of carbon which can be derived through the process of distillation by destroying low-ash and low-sulfur bituminous coal. The fuel form of coke is called petroleum. Coal & Coke both are different in nature because coke is usually grey, hard and porous whereas coal is black in nature.
Coal & Coke can be referred to as forms of carbon. The former is found in rock layers called coal beds or coal seams. Coal is primarily composed of the elements of carbon, hydrogen, sulfur, oxygen and nitrogen. The layers of coal are derived through process gathering and accumulation of plant matter which should be prevented from getting biodegradable or oxidized. Coal is formed through the geological change that occurs in the physical properties of plants thus turning into a solid form.
Both Coal & Coke are two different forms of energy. A great amount of electricity can be generated through the use of Coal & Coke. While coal is a fossil fuel, it can be derived and extracted from the ground with the help of mining or shaft mining through the seam layers or open pits. Natural coke is formed when a coal seam is merged through the process of volcanic involvement. Coke can be used as a fuel and reducing agent for smelting iron ore in a blast furnace. It is used to reduce iron oxide to derive iron.
The process of fuel combustion or any kind of heat or any kind of chemical reaction generates waste heat. It is later disposed into the environment for recycling it and other useful purpose. This process is referred to as Waste Heat Recovery. This process of Waste Heat Recovery can take place only through any kind of change in temperature from that of a chilled cool to high temperature derived from waste gases coming out of industrial furnace, kiln etc.
The benefits of Waste Heat Recovery can be broadly classified in two different sections:
Direct Benefits and Indirect benefits. Waste Heat Recovery has its direct impact on the efficiency process. This can be derived through the reduction of consumption, cost and process cost of utility products. Reduced levels of pollution decrease in the equipment sizes and other forms of energy consumption can reduce the need for such Waste Heat Recovery process. The lesser the number of toxic present in the atmosphere and other forms of harmful gases present in the environment, the lesser will be the need for such recovery process.
