Let’s talk about link submission in particularly. First of all, this is a very useful and necessary promotional tool. You want to be a successful writer? You should to have a highest ranked site to promote your book online. To achieve that goal what do you do first? And don’t you dare to say “I’m going to submit my site to Google!” Don’t count on that, Google is a highest rate search engine that can just ignore your lame site. Submission to Google is not a direct warrant to your success, remember that not has millions sites like yours!
Firstly, submit your site to as many open directories as you can manually. Why manually? Because automatically that does only side services. I don not trying to stop you to trust to those submission service sites, but plan your submission and evaluate every step yourself.
Don’t buy hypes like “1000 sites submission” those 1000 can be a 0-2 ranked search engines, and you will just blow your 200-300$. For that money (299$) much better to buy a Yahoo permanent link with PR8 it will give a real result! Just to give you a hint, make an accent on a submission site PR but not on a quantity!
Don’t be naive, nobody will boost your site just for 200-300$ to the top search engines. I’m encouraging you to do a link submission manually not because of it’s absolutely for FREE or less expensive, no! Even if you do it manually you pay the same price and even more than through the pack submission sites! You do that because you do the fair job, selecting and paying for only high ranked directories!

Now you see what for FREE and what for a dollar. Make a notice on a site’s PR. Yahoo and DMOZ are your first targets!
Now go below and you will see that the list has also middle ranked pages with PR5. These are worth for submission to whatever price it has. Now look below PR3 rank list you see that even a PRO has a submission for a fee, but could it get to you a desirable placement? I don’t think so. My privilege is PR0-PR2 only for FREE, others for a fee.
