Your reason may be what mine was too-- to save money.
The solution for me was to buy and install a solar array.
What I found shocked me. You can save a lot of money!
I'm not talking about a little bit less, but almost 80% less.
I decided I needed some help so I bought a guide to help me.
If in doubt or confused by the info in this article, follow the instructions you can get from Sun-Power-For-Home.com.
It showed me that building a panel wasn't as hard as I had originally thought and it could be done in less than an hour as well.
This includes solar cells, plywood, Plexiglas, silicone, solder and a soldering iron.
Line all of them up with equal spacing and put a dab of silicone in and let it dry.
Once that dries you need to take your soldering iron and connect all the cells together.
Take the wire from the solar cell and place it on the back of the next solar cell in line.
You're pretty much done now. You just have to seal the box.
This ensures that no water can get into the panel and damage anything.
Let the silicone cure for a couple days and then you can finish your home solar panel.
Leave about 3/4" around the edges because we're going to finish them.
Attach the flashing to each side of the panel with your silicone.
