John says in Chapter 2 of his Gospel that on the third day there was a wedding, and Jesus Christ is present.
We have nothing to indicate what went previously that linked it with Jesus and His family attending this wedding.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, Mary's boy, our Saviour and Lord, has just appeared on the world's scene.
Jesus is just beginning to gather around Him His disciples, and yet, He has time to attend this family occasion.
Here is Jesus Christ honouring marriage.
Jesus Christ will attend any wedding when He is called and invited to be present.
At this wedding they run out of wine and Mary, the mother of Jesus, explains to her Son what the situation is.
"
Now, what is Mary saying? What is she expecting? Is it, "Go on Son.
" That could be a very natural feeling for a mother.
Let your relatives see.
"
Mary believed that Jesus could do something.
"Women, why are You involving me? My hour has not yet come.
I take my orders from my heavenly Father, not my earthly mother.
They did not know what had taken place.
Jesus will always help people when they are in trouble and when they are in awkward situations, but He will do it His way, and not even mother's way.
It is good to have Jesus present.
In this case Jesus turns water into wine, and it is the best wine.
