When you stop to think about the fact that your wedding day is not only the most important day of your life, it is supposed to be one that is filled with wonder and magic. Bearing this in mind it is hard to imagine that you would even consider getting married and have the reception in a location that was any less special than the occasion itself.

Granted you may have a few no shows, but you need to make sure that whatever facility you hire not only has room for everyone, but is rated for this many people by the Fire Marshall or you could run into some serious legal problems and your reception end up being ruined.
Even more important than complying with Fire Department regulations is having a facility that provides everyone with plenty of room to move around in. This will help keep everyone much cooler and more relaxed than they might be if they were packed in like sardines. If you end up using a place that is too small, you will find that many of your guests are going to end up leaving far earlier than you would like them too.
Most importantly of all, you should be looking for a place that will let you exert your full artistic creativity on the way it will be decorated. This rules out most church halls and bar party rooms. You could try a museum, but the same thing is likely to happen.
