Besides a short visit I have not been back to my home state in over ten years.
My best friends from high school have become a distant memory and even some family members have fallen out of site.
Although I am hopeful and exited about making new friends, I still stay detached knowing as I move or they move away it will become some one who eventually will become a memory.
But, this is my life as I know it, but does it have to be?
Like I said I recently moved again, and now have nothing but time on my hands to reflect back on those I have lost.
I realized that this should not become my reality.
I have traveled to so many wonderful places and have experienced so much of the world.
Which in and of itself is a huge task.
I have started my friend search and am happy to report that I have found some of the influential people in my life.
My advice is do not let distance be an excuse to lose friendships.
